Discord
Discord is a platform where Alfred can interact with you using your Discord account and, when available, Discord server context.
Add Alfred to Discord
Section titled “Add Alfred to Discord”You can invite Alfred to a Discord server through this link: Invite Alfred
Connect your Discord account
Section titled “Connect your Discord account”Connecting Discord to your Alfred account lets Alfred recognize you across the Dashboard and Discord, so it’s the same Alfred with the same memory in both places rather than two separate ones.
You can connect your Discord account to Butler through this link: Connect Discord
After connecting, Alfred can respond to you in Discord and send you reminders through Discord.
Talking to Alfred
Section titled “Talking to Alfred”In a server, mention Alfred or reply to him to get his attention. In DMs, just message him.
Alfred can read recent context in the channel he’s talking in, so you can point at something that was said earlier instead of pasting it in again.
What Alfred can do in a server
Section titled “What Alfred can do in a server”With the Discord module enabled, Alfred can act in a server rather than just talk in it. Depending on his permissions that includes reading and managing channels, threads and forums, working with roles, handling messages, and using webhooks, events and AutoMod.
He’s still bound by Discord’s own permission system. If Alfred can’t do something in your server, the answer is almost always the bot’s role permissions rather than Alfred himself.
Reminders and messages
Section titled “Reminders and messages”Alfred can DM you reminders and notifications, which is the usual way to get automation to reach you when you’re not on the Dashboard.
Anything you set up in the Dashboard can reach you in Discord, and the other way around. They’re the same account.
Common fixes
Section titled “Common fixes”If Discord DM reminders don’t go through, make sure your account has DMs enabled and you don’t have Alfred blocked.
If Alfred cannot act in a server, check the bot permissions and whether Alfred has access to the channel.
If Alfred doesn’t seem to know who you are, your Discord account probably isn’t connected yet.
